For those of you who managed to come along to one of our recent update events you will know that the new Craigsfarm Community Hub is now nearing completion. We plan to open our doors from June on a phased basis; starting with those organisations renting office or therapy space, followed by The Trough cafe, and then finally the community and meeting space. Our first official event in the Hub will be West Lothian School Arts Exhibition taking place between 5th and 11th June, so please come along to see the artistic creations of children from throughout Livingston.
The last couple of months have been an exciting time with lots of enquiries coming in from community groups and organisations, old and new, seeking to secure space to deliver a range of activities for all ages and interests. Fiona Mearns Dance School, Jo Zumba, Boogie Bounce, and the WRI have already reserved space on a weekly basis with many more firming up their arrangements each week. Our “What’s On” page is currently under development but please visit our website in the coming months to find out what’s going on at the Hub, email firstname.lastname@example.org and ask to be added to our mailing list.
We are also delighted to welcome new faces to the staff team and have been joined by Kate Storrow (Hub Manager), Christine Neill (Café Manager) and Christina Eley (Community Projects Coordinator). Our new recruits are now working alongside existing staff and the Board to get the doors open and deliver a range of services including developing outdoor space at Craigsfarm which will become the home for a number of new outdoor projects which we hope will offer something different for people of ages.
If you live in Craigshill watch out for the next edition of our community newsletter which will be landing on your doormat at the beginning of July for more information on what’s on at the Hub.
